A tough question!

It's winter and cold has started its regular nocturnal visits. And my city, is known for its winds sweeping through. The winds shiver your timbers, while forcing the temperature down south. I quiver inside three layers of clothing. But what never ceases to surprises me are the raiments of the womenfolk. I see them still coming about in skimpy dresses, tank tops, sliver straps, and what not! And every dress fights shy of reaching the navel, leaving the midriff to the mercy of cold winds and having the men at their mercy. It defeats me how they manage or why they should torture themselves such!
I am no male chavunist, or atleast I think so. But what seems to me a 10,00,000 dollar question is, when the men, fully clothed, could sweep the opposite gender off their feet, why the femme fatales have to indulge in such masochism just to get our attention? Your two cents please.

to appear trendy she takes refuge in skimpy clothes or believes in 'the least the better '.

why aint other traits so very visible or dont prove to be a attractive proposition is 'cos they( men and women) faithfully believe in superficiality.its a vicious circle.

and believe me ,issues with one's complexes gives birth to such attitude.

and dude, am happy a male could pose such a question instead of trying to feast on what you get to see ..am really glad..

@Vanathi - :-) I know.
@Casablanca - My, my, whom do we have here? An irked woman hitting back? :-)
@viji - I'll oblige you, buddy. lol.
@kavitha - Possible what you say is true.
@arun - What's for the first time, Sir? Your visit or a good question?

Haha... not irked or scorned. Just practical :)

In any case, if some girls like to dress up in a certain way, and some guys dont mind, maybe the rest of us shouldnt call them superficial for it. Its not as bad as a character flaw, is it?

Wow way to go Casablanca! :-) +1 to you.

superficiality is concerned with or comprehending only what is apparent or obvious.and character is certainly a part of it.guys like houris and she has been succumbing to that pressure of appearing tempting or sexy or just 'hatke' at the cost of her comfort levels.

dressing scanty isnt a character abnormality but doing so at the expense of one's ease certainly is..

Jinguchakka said...

@casa - Certainly I don't mind. Just that I wanted to know what goes on their minds when they torture themselves
@Janani - Grrr...Why can't I find people having their own opinion about things? One smart comment and all go, "Aye, Aye". :-(
@Kavitha - That's pretty heavy stuff, Lady!
@Viewer - No Diwali here. Went to office dear! :-((
@Totti - Et tu....?

Well u have just tried to crack ur way into the underlying logic of a very vicious cycle in this post with both sexes playing the blame game :)

Its not really a torture, issit? I mean if someone doesnt cover her arms, and feels good about it (for whatever reason, I wont go into that), maybe she's okay with a bit of a chill? Know what I mean? Its like saying why do people go to the gym.... ya you feel tired at the end of it, but it feels good too. Weird analogy, I know :p

hey i am all ready to be treated man ... Am i hale and hearty now ... .let me know when where and wht is the treat gona be :)

@rohan - I'm not playing the blame game at all. Just pondering over a mystery. And behind your safe and complicated statement, I could figure that you are supporting me.
@arun - Thanks. I guess there are similar initiatives going on, too.
@casablanca - not a toture? Come On! Don't kid yourself. Here I tremble beneath my windcheater, full shirt and vest. And you say exposing your navel, and all of your hands and some more, to icy winds is okay? similar to gym? I am just trying to understand the women's psyche. Hey, do you think men can't see a figure through full clothes?
:-))
@viewer - Good to hear that you are hale and hearty. I didn't know an offer of a treat had such miraculous healing powers! :-)

This one other act of female community to show to the world that they care(or rather Don't care)... In the coldest of the days they dress that way to keep the onlookers warm and safe... After all it is a great service to man kind..

Hey! What can I say!

I think max has been said already. I am new to your blog ( ;) not the first good question =)) ).
What I can think is that men won't sweep those girls off their feet who won't try to be sexy.. (there can be other reasons too.. but what you see is what actually sells).

Why? I don't know! :)

Jinguchakka said...

@nayan - leave amdocs and go to marketing! you seem to know what sells!!

@susubala - Have you seen any Salman Khans on the road, Madam? You leave the poor.
And I am not feeling all that bad!! ;-)
